CIDER is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to the study of all facets of the global economy, particularly poverty, growth, and globalization. Our members hail from the Departments of Economics, Agriculture and Resource Economics, and Political Science, and in the School of Public Health and the Haas School of Business.

CIDER is the sponsor of several research and teaching activities on campus. CIDER is the institutional home of Center of Evaluation for Global Action (CEGA), a joint UC Berkeley-UCSF interdisciplinary research group dedicated to the promotion of rigorous evaluations of economic and health development programs in poor countries. CIDER is also the institutional home for Pacific Development Association (Pac-Dev), a consortium of west coast development economists who organize an annual research conference.
